PLEDGE
1 - Protection of water
Introduction:
Excellent as a quick warm up activity!
Tell students they’re going to play a matching game that reveals water saving tips each time they make a match.
Lesson:
- Project the game for the class and have students take turns making matches.
- When a match is made, read out and record the new water tip. These can be collected on chart paper (or in individual student journals) as a running list that is added to each time the game is played.
- Discussion Questions:
- Which tips were the most interesting to you?
- Which tips surprised you?
- Were there any tips that may influence you to make positive changes?
- Which tip would you find to be the easiest to do? Which one would be the most challenging?
Follow Up Activities:
- Have each student choose a water saving tip from the list and create a poster. Display posters for other classes to see.
- Early finishers can play independently or in small groups as a centre.
