Lesley Kathnelson has been an elementary teacher for almost 30 years. She is passionate about the environment and inspiring her students to effect change. Educating children and other educators about the world water crisis is an especially important goal for her. As a recipient of the Loran Teachers Building Leaders Award, she believes strongly in cultivating environmental values in the next generation.
Kateri Couture-Latour is a teacher with over ten years of experience teaching Biology and Theory of Knowledge in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program at premiere international schools in Europe and Latin America. Her passion for science and education, her mixed Indigenous and settler heritage, and her recent journey into motherhood, have all combined to give her a particular perspective and hope as to the ways in which we can change our world for the better.
Danielle Kamtié is a youth advocate. Since 2021, Danielle serves as the vice president of the World Youth Parliament for Water (WYPW). In 2022, she co-founded the African Youth Parliament for Water (AYPW) as an aim of the WYPW, to serve as a bridge between the youth on the continent and their policies makers. Danielle worked with the youth, the UN and major stakeholders to create and implement sustainable actions and youth policies, absolutely necessary to unlock the world’s full potential to reach the water agendas by 2030.
Martha Coates is a retired teacher with over 30 years experience. Working with teachers, parents and students, she infuses her instruction with a culture of literacy and environmental responsibility. Martha takes a particular interest in exploring ways to help teachers work together to provide meaningful environmental literacy instruction across all disciplines. As a special education and literacy specialist, she knows that through a collective and strategic approach, all students can reach great heights.
